Connecting a keyboard to a microcontroller project could be a useful addition. Even if it is to be used as a code input device it could be more convenient than using a key matrix. This mechanical tumor by Mio I-zawa is actually a visualizer that shows CPU usage. It’s meant to give an indication of the computers ‘stress level’. I love the creepy organic aesthetic, but it seems like the tumor should only be monitoring the unwanted parts of your CPU load. Perhaps it could be made to monitor spyware and botnet activity on your computer?

This steampunk enthusiast created his own retro-submarine themed steampunk house. While the look of steampunk is pretty neat, this house might have gone too far by recreating a shipwrecked submarine. The engineer from Canterbury, New Zealand themed his playroom with his submarine shipwrecked on a deserted island.

Built at an absurd cost of $100,000, the 12-metre by 5.5m personal den definately resembles a rusting interior of a submarine (it better for that price)….
